‘Flight of Poetry’ (‘Envolée Poétique’), Revelations Exhibition – Grand Palais – Paris

During the Révélations show at the Grand Palais, William Amor unveiled his creation, “Envolée poétique”, in the space dedicated to Les Ateliers de Paris. This work is a sculptural suspension born of the metamorphosis of plastic bags, food packaging, fishing nets and abandoned ropes. The work reveals William Amor’s singular use of discarded materials. Plastic bags are pleated and colored to become airy floral ornaments, while tinted and sculpted P.E.T. packaging becomes a crystalline creation akin to glass.

William Amor’s unique artistic vision sprang from a desire to create art that has an element of poetry, celebrates nature and helps protect the environment. Through his unique creations, which are full of meaning and evoke an emotional response, the artist offers a different perspective on the world surrounding us, including items whose presence, existence and origin we may have forgotten or disregarded.
